What is a Doula?
About Doulas
A Doula is a trained professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and evidence-based support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. A doula's role is to support the birthing person and their family, helping them feel informed, empowered, and cared for throughout their journey.

At the heart of doula work is compassionate, nonjudgmental support - meeting families where they are and walking alongside them every step of the way.

Doula support has been linked to improved maternal outcomes and experiences:
- 53% lower odds of cesarean delivery (Falconi et al., 2022)
- 57.5% lower odds of experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety (Falconi et al., 2022)
